Not far from Pavones in Costa Rica, a very similar wave that’s a bit less consistent.

Surf Season in Punta Burica
Like much of the Pacific Coast of Panama, the best season for surfing in Punta Burica, Panama is the summer, or wet months. From April to October, Punta Burica can really pump. It’s similar to Pavones in Costa Rica, as it’s not too far away. When there’s onshore wind, it gets pretty ugly. When the large summer swells come in, expect waves from OH to DOH at the most.
Where to Surf in Punta Burica
There’s really one main break here in Punta Burica at the point. Inside the bay to the north you will sometimes find some smaller swells, but the main and only attraction is definitely the big swell at the point.
