8 All Inclusive Surf Camps (and Resorts with Surf)

Looking to go on a surf trip but want all your needs met? We got you covered. We’ve been to a few all-inclusive surf camps and a few resorts with surf, so thought we’d offer some suggestions. I separated this list out into two different sections.

The first section is proper surf camps where all of your needs are met. You’ll be fed all of your meals, they have all the boards you need, provide transportation, etc. This is great for people who just want to focus on surfing and not worry about all of the other details.

The second section is true all-inclusive style resorts near surf breaks. Many of them offer surf lessons or can organize surf lessons. Some of them are simply right at the beach at a good break, and you can rent a surfboard literally steps away!

All-Inclusive Surf Camps

Hide & Seek

Located in Popoyo, Nicaragua, Hide & Seek is one of the most luxurious surf camps you’ll find around. Every room has a king-size bed, rain shower, air conditioning, wi-fi, and large closet. Their grande suites have an additional queen size bed for friends or children. Fully all-inclusive, they provide every meal.

The hotel is small but beautiful. They have a nice little courtyard pool a bar, happy hour daily, a sauna, and a spa with plenty of offerings. You can take yoga classes, do cryotherapy, get a massage, and much more. Their restaurant has everything from healthy breakfasts to gourmet dinners.

And of course, they have surf! The beach is just a minute down the road, and there are tons of amazing waves in the area. The instructor, Daniel Shade was an Iron Man athlete and has decades of experience as a surf instructor. With their boat, they can take you out to Playgrounds, Manzanillo, or Colorados. And they always know the best swell.

Indigo Yoga Resort

Located in Mal Pais, Indigo Yoga Resort is a wellness-centered hotel on the beautiful Nicoya Peninsula of Costa Rica. They work together with Sacred Surf Retreats to offer amazing all-inclusive surf retreats. Just 100 meters from the sea, their resort offers shared rooms and private rooms. Their tropical resort has a beautiful garden area, monkeys roaming in the trees, and is very eco-friendly.

Along with surfing, they offer SUP boards, a spa, horseback riding, daily meditation and yoga classes, and much more. This all-inclusive surf camp is definitely for those seeking connection, self-care, and holistic wellness. Your time out of the water will be filled with spiritual care and an emphasis on finding ease. Their retreats have trained yoga teachers on staff, meditation teachers, and high-quality surf instructors.

Furthermore, the beaches in the area offer a bit of waves for everyone. You may not find the biggest pumping waves in Costa Rica or crazy long rides like in Pavones, but there are solid waves in the area. They are beginner-friendly, and can help support everyone from first-timers to those wishing to hone their skills.

Beach Break Surf Camp

Located right on Playa Venao in Panama, Beach Break is a boutique hotel with what we consider a lovely pricepoint for what they offer. They are literally on the beach, and you can sit and watch the waves from a hammock on your porch. Every room has AC, WiFi, and a private bathroom. They have rooms for large families with bunk beds, smaller double and triple rooms, and of course beachfront rooms.

Beach Break offers all-inclusive packages to take care of all of your needs, as well as a la carte options. The all-inclusive includes your meals, transportation, SUP tours of the mangroves, photography, surf lessons, and board rentals. Because of its location, it’s generally surfable all year round, and they work with kids as young as 3 years old.

Thunderbomb Surf Camp

Located in northern Nicaragua on the beach of Santa Maria del Mar, Thunderbomb is a small surf camp that feels like home. Right at the beach, you’ll get a bit of the local vibe here. All of the staff is proudly Nicaraguan, meals are right on the patio overlooking the beach, and they offer yoga and massages. They also have a common area for food or games, as well as general social time. People say the food here is incredible and they cater to many different diets such as vegetarian or vegan.

This all-inclusive surf camps includes airport transportation (in private shuttles with AC), beachfront rooms with AC, three meals a day, horseback riding on the beach, fresh fruit and coffee, unlimited alcohol and water, a massage, and most importantly, access to incredible and empty waves right out in front. There’s virtually no other surfers other than the Thunderbomb crew most days.

They have several breaks they can take you to in the area. As locals, their staff always knows which breaks will be right for you. With the variety of wave selection and different types of breaks, they are friendly to everything from beginners to advanced surfers.

DreamSea Surf Camp

Dreamsea operates a ton of surf camps around the world. Here we’re going to be talking about their camp in Playa Maderas, just north of San Juan del Sur. Now Dreamsea is near the bottom of this section because it is not fully all-inclusive. They provide breakfast and dinner, but you’re on your own for lunch. I know, it perhaps shouldn’t be on this list even, but we had to include it as it’s a rad option.

They have fairly reasonably priced options, starting at about 600 USD for an 8 day stay. The eco-resort is absolutely beautiful. They have a lovely little pool in their jungly hotel, private suites, shared dorm rooms, and tons of surf sessions. There’s a bar, dining area, beautiful garden area, yoga deck, and they’re pet friendly! It’s suitable for all levels of surfers as well.

All-Inclusive Resorts with Surfing

Okay, on to actual all-inclusive resorts where surfing is an option. These are more traditional all-inclusive resorts in tourist areas, but in front of waves you can surf. Many of them offer surfboard rentals on site, and all of them have nearby surf schools and rentals that are accessible.

Occidental Tamarindo

Part of the Barceló Hotel Group, the Occidental Tamarindo is a true all-inclusive resort. Located right on the beach in Tamarindo, Costa Rica, the Occidental was formerly known as the Barceló Langosta Beach Hotel. It’s just about a mile from the center of Tamarindo, and is a gorgeous property sitting in the jungle on the beach.

You’ll find a full spa, swimming pools, delicious food, regular live music, a hot tub, tons of activities for kids, and things like dance classes. Their all-inclusive package includes all meals at the buffet restaurants, snacks and fast food at the snack bars, access to the gym and classes, evening shows, all the sports activities you could ask for (volleyball, tennis, archery, etc.), a children’s park, and more.

Right out in front they have some solid waves for surfing. There are some whitewater waves on the inside, but the waves here are generally best for intermediate+ surfers. They can offer surf lessons through their aquatic center, as well as handle all the rentals you need. It’s also only a few minutes into the main town center to find more surf schools and rentals, as well as different breaks.

Four Seasons Punta Mita

Located in Punta Mita, just north of Puerto Vallarta and Sayulita, The Four Seasons is a top-quality all-inclusive resort. The luxury resort offers beautiful rooms, delicious meals, an amazing spa, multiple pools, and a KidsWell program that focuses on well-being for the children. Sitting in the Riviera Nayarit, they offer plenty of activities for the whole family such as chocolate making workshops, Huichol workshops, Mezcal tasting, SCUBA diving, and tours of the nearby Marietas Islands.

And of course, Punta Mita is full of options for surf. The hotel itself can help hook you up with a board. There are nearby breaks in La Lancha, San Pancho, Bahia, El Faron, and Stinky’s. Some of these spots can be busy, but being right there gives you the opportunity to get out on the water early before the crowds. If you’re looking for a luxury all-inclusive that can accommodate the whole family but still provide some seriously good waves to surf, this is one of the best options.

Secrets Bahia Mita

Another all-inclusive in the Punta Mita area. Secrets is the all-inclusive, adults-only resort retreat line from Hyatt Hotels. They have a quality spa, big gym, pools, golf courses, meeting facilities, and more. Without kids around, this adults-only resort is a bit mellower and quieter than some of the others in the area.

It’s located on the south end of Punta Mita, near Punta del Burro. It’s not quite as close to the surf as the Four Seasons, but you’re only a few minutes away in a car or taxi. The hotel can also help provide transport easily to nearby surf spots.
